Continuing education is the cornerstone of the South Carolina Academy of Family Physicians committment to providing family physicians lifelong learning and development.


Upcoming Meetings & Conferences

Continuing medical education opportunities offered by SCAFP are listed below. As programs are announced, the details of each opportunity will be provided here.


SCAFP Summer Break Away & Annual Assembly - June 10-15, 2012

New meeting format
Sunday - Chief Residents Conference; SCAFP Board Meeting
Monday - All day CME available
Tuesday & Wednesday mornings -Half-day sessions
Thursday morning - Optional Ultrasound Workshop on the Upper & Lower Extremities (includes joint exams and injections of the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist)
Friday morning - Optional SAMs Session

Topics include: Hypertension & Renal Disease, Coding Update, AAFP Chapter Series: Child & Adolescent Immunizations, HIV in Primary Care, Pain Management, Update on Osteoporosis - Diagnosis & Treatment, PCMH -FPs who have transformed their practices, and more. This new format will give attendees the option of staying the week or a few days (for those that need to get back to the office) A variety of accommodations are available at the Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort.
